Photographic treasures from the Gilman and Gonzalez-Falla Collections : “The power of photography dwells first in the eye of the photographer, then in the emotional and visceral response of the viewer.”
A selection of 140 photographs from the photo collection of Sondra Gilman and her husband Celso Gonzalez-Falla, almost all vintage silver prints, are presented around a theme of portraits.
These "Presences" alongside their collectors will accompany us through a history of photography, as most of the artists are major photographers from the late 19th century to the present day, in Europe and the United States.
