The Pierre Matisse Gallery was located in New York and named after its founder, the younger son of the artist Henri Matisse. It specialized in modern and contemporary European and American art. The painters and sculptors who were the mainstay of the gallery were: Miro, Chagall, Balthus, Dubuffet, Giacometti, and Yves Tanguy.
This catalogue was published for the exhibition presented at the Pierre Matisse Gallery in New York, in 1940.
