Edith Dekyndt is an artist whose works offer sensory experiences based on the meticulous observation of matter and the cultural contexts that encompass it. Processual and conceptual in nature, her approach focuses on the often ordinary objects that make up everyday life, and how they are transformed by contact with natural and architectural environments. Her installations and performances integrate organic and machined objects, photographs, videos, sound and light, which plays a central role in his work.
This book brings together a large body of work, corresponding to a new cycle in her work, from the major exhibition at Wiels in Brussels in 2016 to the showcases surrounding the Rotonde de la Bourse de Commerce in Paris.
It also contains a series of essays and presentations of works, with contributions from Alexandra Bordes, Vinciane Despret, Tim Goossens, Léon Kruijswijk, Emma Lavigne, Dirk Snauwaert and Katja Schroeder.
Published with the support of Kering, Women In Motion.
