Within the Supports/Surfaces group, Patrick Saytour has always deliberately occupied a marginal, critical, even ironic position. His work can be defined as an enterprise of deconstruction of form, color, format, presentation framework, to use the very terms of one of his declarations. He then engaged in a kind of theatrical parody of art, staged in a poor vocabulary and with the help of a primary technology: systematic folding and unfolding, burning, soaking, solarization, etc.
