In 2019, the Rencontres d’Arles celebrates its 50th edition. The Rencontres has collected archives and memories to illustrate what has always been its singularity: bringing together photographers and the public, every July, in Arles.

The Rencontres d'Arles (formerly known as the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d'Arles) is a summer photography festival founded in 1970 by Arles photographer Lucien Clergue, author Michel Tournier and historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette.
In 2019, Kering and Les Rencontres d'Arles announced the launch in Arles of the Women In Motion program with the aim of contributing to the recognition of women photographers and gender equality in this artistic field.
