Exhibition catalogue "Exquisite corpse, mediterranean suite" at the Musée Granet, Aix en Provence (January 13 - April 13).
The Museum has adopted the spirit of the Surrealist practice of “the exquisite corpse,” adapting it to the occasion. Each participant in this chain of creation responds to the preceding piece.
The Museum has invited artists from a variety of disciplines (painters, sculptors, photographers, videastes, choreographers, writers, and composers) to participate in a group exhibition designed to weave together the esthetics and concerns of each, and to demonstrate the creative diversity of artists from around the Mediterranean.
Participating countries and artists: Diana Al-Hadid, Syria ; carmen calvo, Spain ; Fabrizio corneli, Italy ; Nourredine Ferroukhi, Algeria ; Sigalit Landau, Israel ; Lia Lapithi, cyprus ; Abdelwahab Meddeb, Tunisia; Moataz Nasr, Egypt ; Bouchra Ouizguen, Morocco ; Orhan Pamuk, Turkey ; Ilias Poulos, Greece ; Marwan Rechmaoui, Lebanon ; Georgia Spiropoulos, Greece ; Sharif Waked. The French artist, Philippe Favier, created the first link in the artistic chain.
