Exhibition catalogue "Photoquai 2011" presented quai Branly, Paris (september 13 - november 11, 2011).
The catalogue shows all 46 photographers present in the exhibition, with for each artist a double page of presentation with an introduction text.
Photoquai continues its basic mission: develop and disseminate non-Western artists whose work remains unpublished or little known in Europe as creating new exchanges between artists, fans, professionals and institutions.
The 2011 selection reflects the diversity of ways of perceiving the non-Western world today, by artists who live far from the clichés too often conveyed through photography tourism.
This year the focus is fixed on parts of the world little explored and rarely seen: Caribbean, Cuba, Pacific, South East, East Africa ... The photographers and their works are selected and presented by Christine Eyen (Africa), Mouna Mekouar (North Africa, Near and Middle East), Anna Spakhova (Russia), Olivier and Sylvie Culmann Rebbot (Asia), Christine Barthe (South America), Celine Martin-Rajet (Oceania) and Christian Caujolle (Caribbean).
