Exhibition Catalogue Hans Reichel (1892-1958) - Inner Light, presented at Domaine Caillebotte, Yerres (22 april 2022 - 2 october 2022).
Throughout his life and the tragic events that will punctuate it, Hans Reichel (1892-1958) will affirm his independence in the expression of a universe where the imagination, poetry imprinted with Germanic romanticism and musicality reign.
As several innovative movements emerged in Germany (Die Brücke and Blaue Reiter in Munich which gave substance to German expressionism), he took part in the adventure of the Bauhaus in Weimar where his friend Paul Klee taught.
His close friends, Paul Klee, Rainer Maria Rilke, Vassily Kandinsky, Brassaï, Roger Bissière, Henri Miller and Lawrence Durrell were not mistaken in jealously guarding one of his works, like a landmark or a talisman.
This book presents some sixty watercolors retracing the career of this artist illustrating the texts of Henri Miller, Jean-François Jaeger, Deborah Browning Schimeck, and Véronique Jaeger.
