Exhibition Catalogue Tout va bien monsieur Matisse, presented at musée Matisse, Cateau-Cambrésis (11 july 2020 - 31 december. 2021).
These works, paintings, sculptures, textiles, with a claimed, humorous or militant approach, produced by seven confirmed or emerging artists on the international scene, illustrate the legacy left behind by an artist as important as Henri Matisse.
Several theoretical texts, written by specialists and art historians, support the exhibition's purpose by developing the links between the work of Henri Matisse and that of each of the seven artists in the exhibition: Ben, Errò, Marco Del Re, Rania Werda, Patrick Montagnac, KRM and Frédéric Bouffandeau. This book, with its large number of reproductions of works and texts by specialists, aims to provide a fresh look at contemporary creation in connection with one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
The last part of a series of three exhibitions on Matisse's work, the exhibition will lead the viewer (and therefore the reader of the book) to question the way contemporary artists look at the artist's work and whether it remains a source of inspiration for them.
