Exhibition Catalogue Fanny Viollet - A story of Woman and Thread, presented at the Maison des arts de Châtillon (18 septembre 2019 - 26 octobre 2019).
The first part of the book is devoted to the eyes and reflections of historians, critics and writers on the work of the artist. The second is in the form of an alphabet covering a wide range of textile techniques used for the reuse of materials nowadays rejected or progressively abandoned: road maps, food scans, handkerchiefs and used clothing, pastry mats, garbage bags, maps, subway tickets, etc.
In addition to this recovery-based approach, the artist has devoted an essential part of her creation to her basic material: the thread.
French artist born in 1944. She has contributed to the insertion of the traditional art of women, embroidery, into contemporary art and has significantly renewed this artistic discipline. She has shown her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany, England, Belgium, Canada, the United States, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden and in Swiss.
