From the outset, the Salon d'Automne has published original posters accompanied by catalogs of which only the covers were illustrated at the start. A large part of the greatest painters of the 20th century contributed to the creation of these catalog posters and covers: Van Dongen, Rouault, Braque, Lotiron, Desvallières ... up to Kouper, Cabu, Wolinski or even Moebius in 2015.
This historic work reproduces in color all the posters known to date, and failing that the covers of the catalogs for the missing years, with a presentation of their authors.
It also lists all the artists who have exhibited at the Salon since 1903. It finally traces the epic of the Salon through its great and its small stories, from its origins to the present day.
