A day with Monet in Giverny

In 1890, Claude Monet acquired a house in Giverny, Normandy. Here he quickly had the first of three studios fitted out, in which he would work from then on, while the garden, the renewed source of his inspiration, was the focus of all his attention. In 1893, he began digging the famous basin, which he filled with water lilies and which was soon spanned by a wisteria-crowned Japanese bridge.
